Home Buying Advice - Transfer of Possession
Transfer of possession is the date on which you can occupy your home.
Transfer of Possession
The final stage of a real estate transaction is when the deeds are recorded. After this you own the home. But you may not be able to move in yet, you may have to wait for the sellers transaction to record. This usually occurs on the same day but occasionally it can occur at a later date, up to 3 days after. This is called the Transfer of Possession date and should be clearly specified in the offer.
