Summary of how the Salt Lake County Utah housing market performed in the first quarter 2007.
1st Quarter 2007 Housing Market Update
While much of the rest of the U.S. is in a housing slowdown Salt Lake County Utah appears to be bucking the trend with strong homes sale data.
All but 5 zip codes experienced double digit growth in single family home prices from the 1st quarter 2006 to the 1st quarter 2007 and none of the zip codes went down. For condos only 1 zip code saw single digit growth, the rest went up more than 10%. The largest single family median home price gain was seen in one of the lesser expensive areas, the West Valley zip code of 84128 went up an impressive 35.32%. For condos the largest increase was seen in 84070 (Sandy) where the median price went up 77.84% to $239,900.
Because areas that experience very few home sales in the quarter tend to show large fluctuations, I have excluded data for any area with fewer than 10 sales.
