2021 2nd Quarter Housing Market Update
The 2nd quarter of 2021 saw an unprecedented rise in the Sat Lake county median sales price. The median price for all home types rose a staggering 23.01% to stand at a new record of $455,000. The number of sales rose a modest 5.73%, but the time taken to sell a home plummeted over 60% to stand at just 5 days.
Single Family Home Sales
If you want to buy a single-family home the 2nd quarter made it so much more expensive. For the first time ever the median sales price broke the $500,000 level, with a 30.49% increase to now stand at $535,000. There were actually fewer sales compared to the same time last year, but the time taken to sell those homes fell to just 5 days.
Condo Home Sales
While not returning the same levels of price appreciation as single-family homes, the condo market still set new records. The median sales price stood at $301,000, a 24.38% increase over the same quarter last year. While sales for single-family homes fell slightly, condos rose sharply, with a 45.75% rise in units sold. They also sold very fast taking just 6 days to go under contract.
