4th Quarter 2015 Housing Market Update
Single Family Home Sales
The Salt Lake County single family home market continued its upward trajectory in the 4th quarter. The median sales price increased 5.68% to $270,000 (this was down on last quarters $280,000), and the median time taken to sell a home dropped an impressive 39% to just 25 days. The number of homes sold saw a slight 2.19% increase with 2,891 homes sold. What was noticeable is that there were fewer homes coming on the market, with 3,025 new listing which was down 6.75%.
Condo Home Sales
The condo market had another good quarter, with the median condo sales price increasing 3.83%. This was on the back of a 12.32% increase in the number of condos sold, with 401 units selling in the quarter. The days on market dropped nearly 50%, with it taking a median of 27 days to go under contract. Just like the single family home market there were fewer condo units listed in the quarter, with 427 new listings, a decrease of 9.53%.
